MOUNTVIEW ACADEMY OF THEATRE ARTS LAUNCHES MOUNTVIEW EXAMS, A NEW EXAMINATION BOARD OFFERING GRADED QUALIFICATIONS IN MUSICAL THEATRE

Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts is excited to launch Mountview Exams, a new examination board offering graded Musical Theatre qualifications which will give performers total creative control over their choice of material.
Designed to develop both the imaginative range and technical skillset of the Musical Theatre performer, the qualifications bring new ways to consider material and make connections across disciplines. Suitable for all ages, performers will have total creative agency of their work, with a syllabus that rewards curiosity and a unique approach.
Mountview Exams launches with a Preview Certificate and 8 Grades in Musical Theatre, each of which brings creative challenge and opportunity for individual flair. The three key Musical Theatre skills of acting, dance and singing share proportional weighting, and there are no prescribed repertoire lists – students can perform any material (including self-written material) so long as it meets the task requirements at each Grade. The exam is conducted with other performers present, to create an authentic audience environment.
Mountview has long been synonymous with exceptional Musical Theatre training, having created the UK’s first degree-level training in Musical Theatre in 1997. Alumni include Olivier Award-winners Giles Terera (Hamilton) and Rebecca Trehearn (Show Boat), actors Jack Wolfe (Next To Normal), Grace Hodgett Young (Sunset Boulevard), Ben Joyce (Back to the Future), and TV presenter Amanda Holden.
